The most common site of stones in the urinary system is the kidneys, and almost all ureteral stones come from the kidneys. Calcium oxalate stones are the most common in urinary tract stones, and stones originating from the kidneys are important causes of ureteral and bladder stones. There are many methods to induce kidney stones in animals, and the classic method is to use chronic treatment with calcium oxalate. However, this method has a low stone formation rate, a long time, and high toxicity. In recent years, ethylene glycol method has been commonly used in research, which has advantages such as good repeatability, high stone formation rate, and fast stone formation speed.
