Renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis is the last common pathway leading to the progression of chronic kidney disease to end-stage renal disease caused by multiple etiologies. The unilateral ureteral obstruction model is a classic animal model of renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis, which is currently commonly used. It is mainly based on the damage and degeneration of renal tubules and the proliferation of interstitial fibroblasts. It has the characteristics of short modeling time and good controllability of modeling severity, and can better simulate the pathological process of renal fibrosis in chronic renal failure.
