Nodular goiter refers to the enlargement of the thyroid gland caused by excessive proliferation of benign thyroid epithelial cells. It is a common benign thyroid disease. Clinically, nodular goiter is more common in middle-aged women and often manifests as thyroid enlargement, with multiple nodules of varying sizes visible or palpable. PTU can replicate a good rat model of goiter, providing a model basis for disease research, drug efficacy evaluation, and more.
